Interview with Greyson Chance!
Internet sensation Greyson Chance made his impressive debut performing Lady GaGa’s “Paparazzi” on youtube (43 million views – more than the entire population of California!). At just 14 years old, Greyson has already released two hit singles, “Waiting outside the lines” and “Unfriend you” (check out Ariana Grande in the video!). Last spring, this talented singer joined fellow pop star Cody Simpson in their much-anticipated Waiting 4 U tour, wowing young fans all over the country. His debut album, “Hold on ‘til the night,” is in stores now and getting lots of radio play! What’s next for Greyson? Read Glitter’s exclusive interview to find out!
GLITTER: Can you tell us about your new album?
GREYSON: Well my new album, Hold On Til The Night, came out about two months ago! It is my debut record and I was so excited to get it out to my fans. It is a very real album; it is not fake or artificial. And it is a pop rock album!
GLITTER: What was it like creating the album?
GREYSON: It was one of my favorite experiences. I had such a fun time creating it. I wrote a lot of it as well! I worked with a lot of different producers and songwriters on this record. So it has a very unique sound.
GLITTER: Your single “Unfriend You” talks about friendship problems. Do you have any advice for kids your age in regards to choosing the right group of friends?
GREYSON: Choose the group of friends who you know will have your back no matter what. Unfriend the others who don’t matter!!
GLITTER: Describe your experience as a breakout artist?
GREYSON: Being a new artist has been such a great experience! I have been traveling the world and just having a great time. I think the best thing about it, is seeing how my music influences and changes people in a positive way!
GLITTER: Who is one artist that you would like to collaborate with?
GREYSON: I would love to collaborate with Taylor Swift. She is a huge inspiration to me.
GLITTER: Have you ever been star struck? If so, by whom?
GREYSON: When I met the President. It was such an incredible moment. Very life changing!
GLITTER: Do you have any sort of “pre-show rituals” to get you pumped up for a performance?
GREYSON: Well I like to listen to some really hard electronic music! It gets me very pumped up! It creates a whole different energy.
GLITTER: What is your number one goal as an artist?
GREYSON: To influence my fans, forever.
GLITTER: Do you have any advice for young kids who aspire to be in the place where you are now?
GREYSON: I would say for them to just keep their heads high and just keep on playing music! There are a lot of haters out there, but you can’t let them get to you.
GLITTER: Do you have any upcoming tours or shows that you would like our readers to know about?
GREYSON: Well I have a tour this winter…but I don’t want to say anything about it just quite yet. 🙂
