Glitter Exclusive with Stefanie Scott!
Stefanie Scott not only plays the role of Lexi, on Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm, but she’s also the voice of the Moppet Girl in the 2012 Disney film, Wreck-It Ralph. In this interview with Glitter Magazine, Stefanie discusses the differences between voice-over work and live acting, dishes on her character, Lexi, talks about her new song, “F.Y.I.,” her fashion tips, and about being an ambassador for Cookies for Kids Cancer. Anyone can help out and we love that. Read on to find out more about this talented actress.
GLITTER: How different is voice-over work to live action acting?
STEFANIE: It’s night and day. You have the option of showing up to work in your pajamas! Since there’s no camera on you, you can only express yourself through your voice. You have to be really animated.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about Lexi that most people might not know?
STEFANIE: Well, since season three has premiered, the secrets out! Lexi is a Math prodigy. I find this so exciting because it shows a girl can shop and know her numbers too!
GLITTER: Can you tell us something interesting that is going to happen on this season of Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm without giving any spoilers away?
STEFANIE: This is a whole new year for Lexi. All these years she’s been older and *she believes* cooler than the A.N.T.’s. Since I reveal my true colors, I’m one of them! There’s lots of change of heart.
GLITTER: Last time we spoke, you said that you did competitive dance at a national level. Can you explain that to us more?
STEFANIE: I’ve been a dancer since my first ballet class when I was three-years-old. When I turned eight, I joined a dance team called “Dance Mania” that traveled around Florida and competed at competitions. We were national champions in jazz and I also did a duo, which I won at a national level.
GLITTER: Do you miss dancing when you are working?
STEFANIE: It’s something that I do keep up classes with here and there, but it’s definitely missed on a daily basis. I can’t wait to move to New York one day and get to sing and dance eight shows a week on Broadway!
GLITTER: What is a typical day on A.N.T. Farm?
STEFANIE: We arrive on set early to do school before rehearsal starts. We work 5 days a week. Mon – Wed is for rehearsal and blocking and Thursday and Friday or taping days. Usually on Friday we film in front of a live audience which is the best!
GLITTER: I know you’re working on music right now so do you plan on touring once you’re done recording?
STEFANIE: I would love to! I’m currently writing and recording with some awesome producers so once I have all my music together, we’ll be planning something and I can’t wait to share it with all my fans!
GLITTER: Anywhere specific you want to tour?
STEFANIE: I’d love to make my way through Europe and Asia! Meeting new fans from different parts of the world is always such a blessing. Plus, there are so many cool sites to see.
GLITTER: Can you tell us about your song, “F.Y.I.”? What’s it about and how did it come about?
STEFANIE: “F.Y.I.” really is about embracing who you are and seeing past others’ shells too. That’s why I love it so much. I’m really excited to announce that I have a new single I just wrote and recorded that should be out soon. Stay tuned!
GLITTER: Can you tell us what it was like to be a guest judge on Rachael vs. Guy: Kids Cook-Off?
STEFANIE: It was a blast! Those kids have so much talent, it’s incredible! Rachael kept whispering to me, “I think they cooked this better than me!” I mean, I do have some mad smoothie making skills and all, but they made me want to open up every recipe book and improve my cooking!
GLITTER: Like you, our Glitter girls are into fashion. What fashion tip can you give them?
STEFANIE: Wear what you love! Trends are awesome, and I love fashion mags, but at the end of the day, your style represents who you are. So I like to try new things, and mix and match something feminine with something more edgy, like a military jacket.
GLITTER: How can your fans interact with you?
STEFANIE: I love interaction with the people who support me. I want to let them know I support them just as much. Write me a letter at my fan mail address, tweet me! (@stefaniescott), or instagram (@stefaniescott). Come to a meet and greet! (Usually tweeted or posted through stefaniescott.com) And I periodically do Q&A’s, as well as, live UStreams.
GLITTER: What’s your definition of a girl who rocks?
STEFANIE: Someone comfortable in her skin. One who chooses to spread love rather than gossip and negative energy. A girl who has ambition and drive to make her dreams come true. A girl that never gives up in the face of adversity.
GLITTER: What is something people might not know about you?
STEFANIE: I love musicals!
GLITTER: Can you tell us about what you do as Ambassador for Cookies for Kids Cancer, which raises funds to find a cure for pediatric cancer? What inspired you to work with a charity like them?
STEFANIE: Right now, there are more than 40,000 across our country battling cancer and I was to do my part to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure to help give these kids a hope for a brighter tomorrow. It’s so easy to get involved. 1.) Bake cookies. 2.) Sell them. 3.) Donate and save lives! Plus, who doesn’t love a chocolate chip cookie? Go to www.cookiesforkidscancer.org to sign up!
