Interview with Jordan Fisher

jordanfisher_164

Jordan Fisher began his acting career training and performing in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. It was here he emerged as a gifted actor, dancer and choreographer with a passion for singing, playing and writing music. After making his Disney debut in Teen Beach Movie as the fan favorite Seacat, he reprises his role in Teen Beach Movie 2, premiering summer of 2015. He can also be seen in Disney’s Liv and Maddie as their long-lost neighbor. Jordan is a gifted singer and musician, playing piano, guitar, and bass, and has a not-so-secret obsession with anime. We’re okay with that! 🙂 Read on to find out what Jordan is up to next!

GLITTER: What can you tell us about your new deal with Hollywood Records?

JORDAN: Well, first of all…I can tell you that I’m STOKED. I’m insanely blessed and lucky to have the team that I do. It’s gonna be an incredible journey and I’m elated to be able to share my music with the world!

GLITTER: Are you working in studio on an album? If so, can you tell us anything about it?

JORDAN: I am! I’ve been developing a sound over the past couple of years that has evolved into something pretty special. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been working on.

GLITTER: How many instruments can you play?

JORDAN: Piano, guitar (acoustic/electric), bass, harmonica, French horn, and I tend to drum around here and there 😉

GLITTER: Are you excited to reprise your role as Seacat in Teen Beach Movie 2? When will it air?

JORDAN: I’m DEFINITELY excited to reprise this role! Seacat gets to sing this time around! Can’t tell you much about it at this point, but I can say that everyone will have lots of great songs stuck in their heads this summer!

GLITTER: Who will you be playing on the upcoming season of Liv and Maddie?

JORDAN:  I play this guy named Holden Dippledorf. He’s a long-lost neighbor of the Rooney family. My mom and Karen Rooney have a bit of a rivalry that, at one point, was handed down to Liv and me…however…there’s a little more to that story. Holden likes Liv. A lot. And Liv likes Holden. A lot. I guess we’ll see where it goes! All I can say is…get ready to ride a bit of a roller coaster with these two. 🙂

GLITTER: How important is it to get involved in charities and raising awareness for special causes?

JORDAN: It’s extremely important for a handful of reasons, but the most important, in my opinion, is how and where you can take action. Finding a charity or a cause to contribute towards doesn’t have to be a stressful process…it just takes being aware of yourself and where you feel you’re called to help. Whatever that may be!

GLITTER: Do you have any celebrity crushes?

JORDAN: Oh yeah. Emma Watson, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Kristen Belle are the loves of my life. They just don’t know it yet.

GLITTER: Is there something about you fans would be surprised to know?

JORDAN: Hmmm…well, I think everyone has tons of quirks that they just don’t let people know about. I definitely have my share, but one that not a ton of people really know about me is the fact that I’m a HUGE anime junky. This goes back to Pokemon/Dragonball Z days (which I haven’t grown out of….shhhh).

GLITTER: Best advice you were ever given?

JORDAN: Prioritize your family. Find community. Let love come naturally and on its own time. Never find yourself bored of your work. Be kind. Be kind. Be kind.

GLITTER: What’s your definition of self-love?

JORDAN: Well, I don’t want to be preachy…but my definition of self-love would have to be contentment and happiness with yourself. It’s finding things about yourself that you like. I know everyone has heard this a thousand and two times…but it really doesn’t matter what others think or say about you as long as you are proud of who you are. The people that REALLY matter will make themselves present. Just continue to be and love yourself, and everything else will come naturally.

GLITTER: What would be a dream role for you?

JORDAN: I have a lifelong dream of being a superhero. Of course. What male actor doesn’t? Beyond that…maybe a Bright/Kauffman/Crane project. They created “Friends”, which is my all-time favorite show that has ever graced television.

GLITTER: Is there someone you’d like to work with that you haven’t worked with already?

JORDAN: Robert Downey Jr. is an actor that I’ve looked up to for a while. I just love his choices. He’s incredibly intelligent and so aware.

GLITTER: Any projects you can tell us about that you’re working on next?

JORDAN: Well, we’re getting back to work on Liv and Maddie this summer! Can’t wait to be with my LAMFAM again 🙂
