Interview with Elizabeth Elias
Glitter recently sat down with Elizabeth Elias, singer and songwriter, and actress best known for Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way, to talk about her new single with Flo Rida, her inspiration behind the song, her definition of self-love, and how to keep up-to-date with her. GLITTER: What can you tell us about your new single?
ELIZABETH: My new single, “At Night,” featuring Flo Rida is a fun song. It was a lot of fun to record. The hook is a sample from the very popular song, “My Boo,” by the Ghost Town DJ’s. They showed me some love on social media after hearing the song.
GLITTER: How did the collaboration with Flo Rida come about?
ELIZABETH: Flo Rida and I are both on Atlantic Records and both Miami natives. The record label felt we would be a good match for the collaboration. Originally, I was featured on his version of the song with AKON and it received such a positive reaction that they wanted to release my version as well.
GLITTER: Will we see more singles and a possible album from you soon?
ELIZABETH: I am in the studio working on new material. I’m blessed to be working with such great producers. I would love to release another single and then an album.
GLITTER: Will there be a video?
ELIZABETH: I think the video for “At Night” will be our next step. Not sure when it will be released and I can’t wait for it.
GLITTER: What inspired the song?
ELIZABETH: The inspiration for the song was taking a very successful hook from 1995, which has really gained a lot of attention in the past year. It felt right and the timing was right.
GLITTER: Do you play any instruments as well?
ELIZABETH: I play piano and a little guitar, however, I consider my voice to be my main instrument and of course my dancing. That’s the Latina in me. I can’t wait to share more of my vocal range with the fans out there.
