Rachel Lindsay is the Bachelorette We Needed

Although the 2017 cast lineup for the Bachelorette has just been revealed this past week, it looks like Rachel Lindsay already found the love of her life.

She just recently announced her engagement to one of thirty guys that she will be choosing from in this upcoming season.

This season is definitely going to be quite different. The 2017 cast is the most diverse compared to all 33 combined seasons. Almost half of the contestants are nonwhite, and then you have Rachel who is the show’s first black Bachelorette. It also doesn’t hurt that Rachel is incredibly well educated and suits the role of a leading lady.

It’s nice (and important) to see that reality shows are expanding the dialogue of diversity within the television industry. Although there’s still a lot of room for improvement, shows that we are finally making progressive steps in the world of entertainment!
