Miley Cyrus Releases “Inspired” to Celebrate Pride Month
The new single is a perfect way to support the LGBTQ community!
On Friday, June 9th, Miley Cyrus sang her new song, Inspired, in honor of Pride month. The performance took place in Washington D.C. for the Capital Pride weekend.
Miley is a huge advocate for the LGBTQ community. On Instagram, she posted a picture of herself in a rainbow sweater laying in a meadow with the caption, “In celebration of #Pride and the desperate cry for more love in this world #Inspired is out now!
Inspired is the second song released from her untitled sixth album, which is coming out later this year. The lyrics are beautiful and perfect for Pride month. The song is extremely empowering and talks about her childhood and father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
The singer and actress also sang her song to represent the organization she founded in 2014 called the Happy Hippie Foundation. The non-profit foundation is for social justice and encourages people to fight the injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth, and other vulnerable populations. Miley is donating a portion of the proceeds from the new single to the foundation in hopes of continuing the fight against injustice!
She also teamed up with Converse for their new pride collection that supports the LGBTQ community. Check out Miley’s Instagram to see her rocking the shoes!
