Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany Star in Upcoming Movie Stronger

The trailer for Stronger has recently been released, and it looks like it’s going to earn some Oscar and Golden Globe buzz.

The trailer delves into the lives of those who were affected in the Boston Marathon bombing, specifically the lives of survivor Jeff Bauman (portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal) and his then-girlfriend Erin Hurley (Tatiana Maslany). The film is based on Bauman’s memoir.

Bauman was standing near the finish line where the bombs had been detonated, and as a result, he lost both his legs up to his knees. The film will not only explore the relationship between Bauman and Hurley, but the incredible struggles he is confronted with. Not only does he have to adapt to a life filled with uncertainty, but he must also deal with newfound responsibilities. The trailer shows a fair share amount of hardships, but it only scratches the surface of what’s in store for the film in the near future.
