The trailer shows four high school students (two boys and two girls) tasked with cleaning a school basement. The group discovers an old game and they decide to play. Each student chooses an avatar in the game and they literally get sucked into that world and become whichever avatar they chose. It ends up that there are now three males and one female who must figure their way out of the game by participating in fights and embarking on some dangerous adventures. They must use their avatars’ skills to survive and make it back to the real world.

Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle,” which also matches the movie’s title, is used as the music for the trailer, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan play the four high schoolers in the game. Nick Jonas also makes an appearance in the film.

The movie is a stand-alone sequel to the 1995 movie Jumanji, and it is set to premiere on December 20, 2017.
