Selena Gomez Shares Why She Left “The Scene”
Selena Gomez has really made a name for herself in the music world, so you wouldn’t be wrong if you forgot that she was once a part of The Scene. They first formed in 2008, and released three studio albums before finally calling a hiatus in 2012. “Who Says” and “Love You Like a Love Song” are some of their biggest singles.
If you think the group separated on a sour note, Selena shared that she valued being the front of a band, even though she grew from it. In a Q&A session with Ask Anything Chat, Sally from Lexington, Kentucky wondered, What did happen to “The Scene”?
‘That to me was a very specific time in my life. I think if you’re 14, 15, 16 and you’re trying to sing about situations in life that you haven’t experienced, I don’t really know if that qualifies you as an artist, if I’m being honest with you. It helped me to have people who were older around me that helped guide me, and inspired me and pushed me. And there was a moment when I felt like I could do it and I wanted to try it on my own.”
Selena’s entire attitude about the journey is an “everything happens for a reason.”
