Kendrick Lamar Takes Home Video Of The Year
Kendrick Lamar took home Video of The Year at the 2017 Video Music Awards on Sunday.
Kendrick Lamar received eight VMA nominations this year, and he went home winning six of them. Not only did he return home with the biggest award of the night, which is Video of The Year, but he also won Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.
All of the awards that Kendrick brought home this year were for his video for his song “Humble.” In the video, Kendrick and people in the background all have their heads on fire. On the VMA stage, the song was performed similarly with a lot of fire. A man came out completely on fire and then Kendrick’s backup dancers all climbed up and down a wall of flames.
It definitely was one of the coolest performances of the night. Congrats Kendrick! Be sure to watch his performance below.
