Global Citizen is a social action platform dedicated to helping solve global issues including world hunger, Us Foreign Aid, education efforts, and environmental relief. Lovato’s efforts towards the community started back in October of 2016 after encountering a little girl in a refugee camp that told her all she wanted was to be happy. Her first mission? To help bring displaced children hope and comfort from recent violence.

Save the Children’s HEART Program was chosen to offer psychological, healing, and educational efforts of the arts to those children and families who need it the most. Demi writes, “My hope is that this program can bring a bit of comfort to those who need the most. This isn’t about politics, or race, or religion. It’s simply about humanity and protecting one another.”
