Jordin Sparks Made The Greatest, Subtle, Statement At Last Night’s Football Game

Singing the national anthem before the Cardinals and Cowboys squared off last night, Jordin Sparks subtly commented on current political and racial tensions.

Football fans noticed something scribbled on the singer’s hand. When you look closely, Sparks had written ‘Proverbs 31: 8- 9’ on her left hand, which she used to hold her mic with. Thousands of football fans took to the internet to see what the verse said.

It reads, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

The verse speaks to current racial relations in the United States, which have been on the rocks. Entire NFL teams have made the decision to take a knee during the national anthem, infuriating President Trump.

He took to Twitter this morning, stating, “Ratings for NFL football are way down except before game starts, when people tune in to see whether or not our country will be disrespected!”

And, “The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger

While Trump continues to criticize the NFL players and coaches, he has yet to comment on Twitter about the players’ reason for their protests, and how he plans to address racial tensions.

Whether or not we agree with this form of protest by the National Football League, we can certainly learn from the class act that is Jordin Sparks. That goes for President Trump as well.
