Bella Thorne, “Latina and Proud,” Demands No Photoshop For GQ Mexico

19 year-old actress Bella Thorne posts body positive on her Instagram.

Bella Thorne graces the cover of GQ Magazine in Mexico for their October cover and uses her bod as a statement piece for mainstream media.

“I specifically asked for no re touching on this photo, and lemme tell you I have insecurities, about pretty much everything. That’s natural & that’s human. You might look at this photo and think oh shush Bella, but just know every time someone looks in the mirror they simply don’t see what everyone else sees. Know that it’s completely normal to feel insecure and it’s accepted,” she writes on her Instagram page in relation to her GQ Magazine Mexico spread.

Your wifey said I’m looking like a whole snack 😉 #bellathornegq

With Thorne only being nineteen, she’s turning 20 on Oct 8th, this marks a major confident move towards self acceptance and esteem targeted at young girls. Especially with the ever-growing trend of having more curves versus a stick thin figure, celebrities have become so much more open to their own insecurities that showcases to everyone, that regardless of who you think they are, they also have imperfections that creates their own self-havoc.

As she rolled out her posts from the magazine, some took “hip hop your asses over the fence” to be a reference to the U.S.-Mexico border and are calling her out over the racial tone of her comment. “As a Mexican, the last line was so inappropriate,” one commenter wrote. Another stated, “The last line was totally unnecessary and it literally destroyed the entire message.” People are responding on both Instagram and Twitter.

Bella posted on her twitter, “Latina and proud ❤️❤️❤️.” Possibly clearing up any rumors that she was referring to anything political in her post and referring to those who body shame as crossing the fence of criticism.
