‘Blackish’ Celebrates ‘Juneteenth’ In It’s Season Four Premiere
With Columbus Day right around the corner, Blackish is not failing to educate the youth.
Season four of Blackish is here and it is starting off with a bang. Blackish plans to tackle the misperception of Columbus Day and instead represent “Juneteenth.” This holiday celebrates the emancipation of slaves after the Civil War on June 19, 1865. The showing of empowerment and celebration of African Americans is the perfect start to a new season.

In the season premiere, the kids are set to perform a play based off of Christopher Columbus. With the historical errors that have been discussed over the years, it is soon argued that this play should not be celebrated. Instead, they decide to celebrate a monumental piece of African American history which is “Juneteenth.” This episode includes a musical performance based off of Hamilton written by a special guest, Aloe Blacc.
Blackish is a very empowering show and we cannot wait to see what the rest of this season brings.
