Lady Gaga’s “Joanne” Is Platinum in U.S.

Lady Gaga’s album, Joanne, goes platinum in the U.S.

The singer’s fourth album was certified platinum by the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America). The platinum status reflects 1 million equivalent album units earned in the U.S. Gaga was thrilled about this and thanked her fans and family through various forms of social media. She posted a picture of herself and the plaque, with the caption “Feels good for #Joanne to be Platinum in the United States, w/ an album I made so from my [heart].”

“Joanne” was released Oct. 21, 2016, and was Gaga’s fourth No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album featured eleven songs including “Perfect Illusion” and ” Million Reasons.” Gaga is the first female singer to have four number one albums in the 2010s. Her other number one albums include “Artpop,” “Cheek to Cheek,” and “Born This Way.”

The singer went on a tour named after the album but rescheduled several dates due to her being in severe chronic pain. Gaga announced her rescheduled tour dates for the “Joanne World Tour,” which will restart in January of next year in Barcelona, Spain.
