The Weeknd’s ‘Star Boy’ Goes Double Platinum
This star boy is dancing in platinum plaques.
The Weeknd shared on his Instagram his two platinum plaques to reveal his major success. The album Starboy has gone double platinum by selling over two million copies. It includes four platinum singles that have reached over one million sales. These singles include “Starboy,” “I Feel It Coming,” “PartyMonster,” and “Reminder.”
The Weeknd has not only had major success this year but all throughout his career. He received another plaque from the RIAA for having 35 million song awards in the United States within the last five years.
From his debut album “Kiss Land,” and his highly anticipated sophomore album “Beauty Behind the Madness,” The Weeknd has been on a fire path. Both of these albums had major success and are still continuing to get played everywhere. The Weeknd is currently working on a comic book based off of Starboy and working on new music.
This is a great accomplishment and we can not wait to see what The Weeknd does next.
