G-Eazy Is One Of Many Performers In Bay Fire Relief Concert
A major fundraising campaign supporting recovery for the firestorms that occurred in Northern California will take place on November 9th.
The fundraising campaign was created by a group of Bay area business and community leaders. The group, called Band Together Bay Area has collected several millions of dollars since it’s creation and seems to want to raise more for short, intermediate and long-term relief for low-income families, immigrants, and other North Bay fire victims.
Many of its donations will take place through a concert created by musicians G-Eazy, Metallica and Dave Matthews. The show will take place on November 9th at AT& T park. G-Eazy, an Oakland based rapper, commented on the fire during his music video shoot: “My heart goes out to all those affected by the devastating fires. The Bay Area is forever my home, my heart, and soul, and it hurts to see so many people lose everything.”
All proceeds from the concert and related fundraising activities will go to the Tipping Point Emergency Relief Fund, which will direct money to North Bay community foundations, service providers, and government partners. The first round of beneficiaries — $1.5 million has been distributed — include the Community Foundation Sonoma, Napa Valley Community Foundation, and the Redwood Credit Union, which is behind the North Bay Fire Relief Fund.
If you’re interested in tickets for the Band Together Bay Area Benefit Concert, they’re $49.50-$199.50 and go on sale Friday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. They’re available on bandtogetherbayarea.org and Ticketmaster.com.
