From Disney to the Dark Side: Ross Lynch Talks About his New Movie
While Ross Lynch has been a Disney star for a while now, the actor has decided to break away from that scene for the time being. He is the star of the film, My Friend Dahmer, a movie about infamous serial killer, sex offender and cannibalism. He did a lot of research himself on the killer and describes Dahmer’s life as “tragically interesting” in an interview with US Weekly.
Dahmer was bullied as a teenager before he committed these heinous crimes. There is one scene that Lynch recalls as very difficult to film even though it did not even make it into the film. He is in a car and the idea is that he is about to have an emotional breakdown. He said it was “very much emotionally taxing and exhausting.”
Another question came up, “was it hard to let go of Dahmer when filming was over?” Ross seems very calm and collected, maybe even unbothered. He says he had this hair color in his hair to look more like his character and every night he would shower and rinse it away. This was his way of shedding Dahmer, very symbolic.
My Friend Dahmer hits theaters November 3rd.
