Beyonce Pays Homage to Lil’ Kim

Halloween has come and gone, but the world is still not over Beyoncé’s tribute to Lil’ Kim. Lil’ Kim became a staple in the rap world after impressing Notorious B.I.G. with her freestyle skills. She has many albums that have gone platinum, won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals for her part in the song “Lady Marmalade.” She was in her prime in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and her style were impeccable. Beyoncé is well aware of that fact and paid homage to the female rapper with five amazing Halloween costumes this year.

First, Bey recreated her look in Missy Elliott’s “The Rain” video. Next she was Lil’ Kim in a 2001 issue of Manhattan File Magazine rocking blue wig with the Chanel logo in the bangs. In 2000 Kim was featured in an edition of Today’s Black Woman in a blonde bob wig with blue lingerie and fur. Of course, Beyoncé killed this one as well. She also killed the last two outfits including Kim’s outfits from the 1999 Source Hip Hop Music Awards and the 1997 No Way Out tour.

Jay-Z also got in on the fun dressing up as Notorious B.I.G. Before Queen Bee uploaded pictures of her outfits, she pays homage on her website by saying, “Hip hop would not be the same without our original Queen Bee.”
Check out the two Queens Instagram’s to see the amazing outfits.
