Flynn Has Pleaded Guilty to Lying to FBI
Trump’s former national security official Michael Flynn, has pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contact with Russia during the 2016 US election process.
Flynn is Trump’s most well known ally and the first White House official to face charges in Mueller’s investigation. Trump was very close with Flynn on his campaign trail, where they both tried to ‘verbally drag’ Hillary Clinton when chanting “lock her up” at the Republican National Convention.
Flynn’s admission to guilt in the federal district court in D.C. could be a very bad sign for the current White House administration as Flynn is now talking and cooperating in the Mueller investigation. The subject at hand: possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, to interfere and influence our 2016 US election.

Flynn admitted as a part of his plea, that four days after President Trump was inaugurated, he did not honestly answer questions the FBI had about his interactions with Russia. He also stated that others on the Trump official White House team, knew what he was doing.
You can read documents from Mueller’s office including the statement of criminal information, the plea agreement with Flynn and the “statement of the offense,” here.
The karma seems to be real, as Flynn shouted to “lock her up” when speaking about Hillary on the campaign trail, only to now pleading guilty to federal charges himself.
Reminder: Flynn chanted “lock her up” at the RNC, said “If I did a tenth, a tenth of what she did, I would be in jail.” pic.twitter.com/AQY79rlzhm

Shortly after taking office and winning the election, Trump tried to distance himself from the growing concern over Flynn. White House press secretary Sean Spicer stated back in February that President Trump asked for Michael Flynn’s resignation, citing an “evolving and eroding level of trust.”
Flynn specifically pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Court records indicate he was acting under instructions from senior Trump officials.
Flynn said in a statement:
“It has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of ‘treason’ and other outrageous acts. Such false accusations are contrary to everything I have ever done and stood for. But I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right.
“My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
