The Dutchess of Cambridge joined students at southwest London’s Robin Hood Primary School to celebrate their ten years of the Royal Horticultural Society’s campaign for school gardening. This program works to support students in improving their skills and development, specifically with gardening. She also joined the children to whittle sticks. While Kate is terrific at gardening, she found that her whittled stick needed some improvement. However, one of the children kindly reminded her that practice makes perfect.
Kate Middleton was happy to be helping the children garden while also reminiscing about her childhood. She felt right at home when she put on her gardening gloves and helped to show them how to plant some winter bulbs. She told the children at the end that “It’s been lovely to meet all of you and thank you so much to all the children who’ve shown me what they’ve been doing in their gardens. I’ve got such fond memories of being in the garden and being outside from my childhood, and I’m sharing that with my own children, George and Charlotte, at the moment.”
She left the children after reminding them that what they are doing is special and she hopes that they all make their memories in the garden.
