Alli Simpson Talks New Music: ‘Material Boy’
Alli Simpson seems to be making a comeback into music.
She recently dropped two new songs you need to hear. One of the songs. “Material Boy” comes with an interesting video.
“I wanted it to be a little weird, where people ask, ‘What’s going on here?’ When you’re with someone superficial, there’s nothing more than that, and I think that comes across,” the singer told Hollywood Life in an interview. Check out the video below.

There is a rumor going around that the song is about Charlie Puth.
In her interview with Hollywood Life, she stated, “He does inspire me musically as well. “Material Boy” is not necessarily about him, but I do get inspiration from everywhere! It’s [more] about another guy I was seeing at the time. But I highly respect Charlie and I think he’s great.”
Simpson feels as if this is her debut part two. She talks about how she is finally finding her own sound, writing her own music and finding her passion. She is working hard in the studio and hopes to go on tour soon maybe even with Fifth Harmony.
She further stated, “I love seeing a bunch of women get together and sing and dance, so if I could support them or a group like Little Mix, that would be so empowering.”
It will be interesting to see what Simpson’s 2018 brings.
