Kendrick Lamar to Produce ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack

As the clock ticks down to its release in theaters, there’s even more reason to be excited about Black Panther.

Marvel Studios had announced that Kendrick Lamar and Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith will be curating and producing the film’s soundtrack.

The rapper originally teased his involvement with the film in the official video for his Damn single, “Love”.

In the video, a director’s clapboard is shown with the words, “B. Panther Soundtrack Coming Soon.”
The soundtrack will have songs that will be featured as well as inspired by the upcoming film.

Black Panther‘s director, Ryan Coogler, chose Lamar for the task of producing the soundtrack.

Lamar released an official statement expressing his excitement, stating that he is “truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside [director Ryan Coogler] and Marvel’s vision.”

There is currently no official release date or track list, but the soundtrack is available for pre-order.

You can currently hear a single from the soundtrack, “All the Stars,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
Black Panther tickets are now on sale and will hit theaters February 16.
