Catherine Zeta-Jones and Kirk Douglas Present at the Golden Globes Together + Some People Had Questions
Catherine Zeta-Jones and her father-in-law, Kirk Douglas, present at the 2018 Golden Globes.
Kirk Douglas received a standing ovation when he and his daughter-in-law came out on stage to present the award for Best Screenplay for a Motion Picture. Catherine Zeta-Jones is married to Kirk’s son, Michael Douglas, and started her speech off saying Kirk was “a living Hollywood legend.” He responded to Catherine with saying, “Catherine, you said it all. I want to say a speech but I don’t want to say it because I could never follow you.”
Catherine posted the above photo on her Instagram saying, “In the wings with my father in law Kirk, my favorite 101-year-old real movie star of all time!!!!” Douglas just celebrated his 101st birthday on Dec. 9.
Despite the standing ovation that he received, some people had questions concerning everyone’s acceptance of Kirk Douglas being that he is accused of raping actress Natalie Wood. Some people on Twitter were quick to call out the Golden Globes for honoring Douglas.
