Darren Criss on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Darren Criss stopped by Jimmy Kimmel to discuss his upcoming role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace.
The upcoming FX series is about the 1997 murder of the Italian designer, Gianni Versace, at the hands of Andrew Cunanan (Darren Criss) at his Miami Beach home.
Criss describes Cuananan as “a spree killer, a very troubled young man who does not follow the typical prerequisites of a killer.” He wouldn’t say that he had fun portraying the role, but that we do get to see “the good sides of him, [and] the sad sides of him.”
The former Glee star states the fun part would be working with the outstanding cast. During the production, he had a chance to visit co-star Ricky Martin’s home “where [Criss] played guitar…all the while getting pedicures.”
Criss also got a chance to talk about his humble beginnings at the University of Michigan, where he played Harry Potter in the musical parody, A Very Potter Musical on YouTube.
The series is directed by Glee and American Horror Story creator, Ryan Murphy.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story premieres January 17 on FX.
