Eliza Dushku Opens up About Sexual Abuse

In a Facebook post that was posted on January 13, Dushku reveals the abuse she suffered as a child from stunt coordinator Joel Kramer.
She starts off by thanking the men and women who have spoken out in the past few months and thereby giving her the courage to speak about her own past troubles. Dushku writes, “It has been indescribably exhausting, bottling this up inside me for all of these years.”
Dushku goes on to describe how Kramer earned her trust, only to use it to lure her into a hotel room in Miami where he assaulted her. After telling an adult female friend about the incident, Dushku was injured on the set of True Lies. She spent an evening in the hospital for her broken ribs. “Whereas he was supposed to be my protector, he was my abuser,” she says in her Facebook post. He even nicknamed her “Jailbait.”
Several weeks ago, Dushku found a picture of Kramer hugging a young girl. This too, propelled her to come forward with her story. Now, Eliza hopes that speaking out will give other girls who have been abused the strength to find help.
