The Girl Gang Gets Together Again for the Women’s March
On January 21, 2018, the Women’s March will hit the streets again.
After the election of Donald Trump in 2016, millions rallied together to make it known where they stood on the serious issues impacting women and the future of America. Having taken place the day after President Trump’s inauguration, in his opening monologue on Saturday Night Live Aziz Ansari referred to the historical event as the time when “an entire gender protested against him.”
Tackling divisive issues of sexism and attacks on healthcare, all genders stepped onto the scene and made their voices heard. With an estimate of five million participants from around the globe, massive demonstrations filled the streets from the United States to Ecuador to France to Australia to France- and everywhere in between.
Coming January 21st, the second annual Women’s March will return. In its second annual wave of demonstrations are set to drown out all other noise. So dig out your pink beanies and get the poster paint ready because it is almost showtime. This year’s Women’s March will meet in Las Vegas, Nevada for Women’s March: Power to the Polls, “an event that will launch a national voter registration tour one year after the historic Women’s March on Washington,” according to their website.
However, if you cannot make it out, you can walk in any other of the current 673 sister marches.
