Chrissy Teigen and Kristen Bell Offer to Free McKayla Maroney from NDA with $100,000
Teigen has offered to pay the $100,000 fine if the Olympic gymnast spoke at USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nesser’s hearing.
Former USA gymnast McKayla Maroney alleges that USA gymnastics forced her to sign a non-disclosure agreement and silenced her with $1.25 million settlement. She argues it was in response to resolving sexual abuse claims brought against the team doctor in 2016. The doctor Larry Nesser now sits with more than 140 women accusing him of abuse including fellow gold medalists Simone Biles and Aly Raisman.
In the wake of the news regarding her settlement and the fine she will face if she takes the stand, Chrissy Teigen was quick to help. The fashion icon who never fails to make her voice heard and resists any urge to hold back on social media, was quick to offer to pay the fine in exchange for Maroney’s bravery.
The entire principle of this should be fought – an NDA to stay quiet about this serial monster with over 140 accusers, but I would be absolutely honored to pay this fine for you, McKayla. pic.twitter.com/lsBEgEqZpD

Quick to respond, The Good Place creator Michael Schur offered to split the cost and Kristen Bell soon followed suit.
I’ll 1/3 it with you guys. https://t.co/XasgyGEg6E

Maroney has yet to respond to their offers but is set to be one of 88 women to take the stand this week as victim statements at Nassar’s sentencing, began today and is set to run through Friday.
