Pete Wentz opens up about his bipolar disorder and the support he receives through it.

Pete Wentz, band member of Fall Out Boy, has been very transparent about his struggle with bipolar disorder. He has not shied away from sharing his story and how he has opened up about where he gets his support. He told People, “Living with purpose and having a schedule with my family has brought me balance.”

Wentz went on a leave from Fall Out Boy in 2009 and went through a divorce in 2011 from Ashlee Simpson. In a 2015 interview he said, “I don’t take any medication, I went to therapy … but I think the idea that there’s a one size fits all [solution] is one of those myths. Everybody figures themselves out in a different way.” Although mental illness is still a taboo subject, it is important for people especially stars, to speak clearly about the struggles of every day.
