Jennifer Lawrence Responds to Dress Controversy

Lawrence stirred up some controversy over her dress choice for her Red Sparrow photo call earlier this week.
The award-winning actress donned a sleek, plunging Versace Pre-Fall 2018 dress for the shoot. Critics complained about her outfit choice on social media, as her fellow co-stars were bundled up in coats on account of the cold winter weather while she wore a revealing dress.
This is such a quietly depressing (and revealing) image. Not least because I’ve been outside today and it’s bloody FREEZING. pic.twitter.com/BRnmgKJ5wY

It must be about 3 degrees in London ATM, cold enough that the bloke actors have to wear coats and scarves to their press call and yet poor Jennifer Lawrence is wearing a small amount of fabric some might call a dress. pic.twitter.com/GoVfPscRWi

However, Lawrence was having none of their criticism.
In a Facebook post published on February 21, the actress called the controversy over her wardrobe choice “utterly ridiculous.” She went on to say that, “I was outside for 5 minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice” and that “Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold THATS MY CHOICE TOO!”
Well said. As always, it is clear that Lawrence knows how to hold her own against the critics.
