The 90th Oscars featured a bilingual performance of Coco’s hit.

The Academy Award Winner for Best Animated Feature, Coco, also featured the Best Original Song “Remember Me.” Vying for its spot, it faced tough contenders including The Boss Baby, Ferdinand, The Breadwinner, and Loving Vincent.

However, can anyone expect to beat Pixar at its own game when their soundtrack features Miguel and Marco Antonio Solis and their mission to exhibit the beauty in Mexico’s “endlessly beautifully culture and traditions?” The film was the first of its kind to come out of Pixar to shed light on marginalized groups and provide representation.

Accepting the award for their musical contribution to the film, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez took to the 2018 Academy Awards stage for their second time after receiving the same award for Frozen‘s “Let It Go.”

Yet, the fun did not stop there. The star-studded evening included a live performance that brought Mexico’s beautiful and vibrant culture to the forefront of the biggest night in Hollywood.

Introduced by Eugenio Derbez, the special rendition of the film’s lullaby and joyous tune stole the show when performed by Gael García Bernal (who plays Hector in the film), Miguel and Natalia LaFourcade who performed an incredible duet of the shows that combines English and Spanish, just as the film did.
