Interview: Sophie Rose on Her Single, ‘Two Young Lovers’
Singer/songwriter, Sophie Rose, has written over 500 songs, including her latest single, “Two Young Lovers,” which came to her quickly and flowed out of her almost immediately.
GLITTER: How would you describe your sound?
SOPHIE: My sound is pure pop, but more organic than most pop songs you hear right now. I put a lot of feeling into my songs, and I think that comes through in the final product.
GLITTER: Do any of you play any instruments?
SOPHIE: I play guitar mostly, but also a little piano.
GLITTER: Where do you find your inspiration?
SOPHIE: I find inspiration in everything, and most of my ideas come to me randomly when I’m not even looking for them. I’ll be going about my usual day when a lyric or melody pops into my mind, and I’ll go from there.
GLITTER: What was the first single that you ever released?
SOPHIE: I’ve been writing and releasing music since I was eleven-years-old, but my first official single is “Two Young Lovers!”
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your single, “Two Young Lovers?”
SOPHIE: I wrote it last summer and decided to release it on a whim. I started the production and uploaded the song in a month’s time. It was scary releasing it independently and I almost didn’t, but it has gone really far on its own and I am so happy I did it.
