What to Know about Washington D.C.’s March for Our Lives
First off, it is happening soon.
After the walkouts that took the nation by storm earlier this week, Washington D.C.’s March for Our Lives event will take place at the end of this month.
The march will feature some star-studded backing, having gained the support of Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Jennifer Hudson, and Miley Cyrus.
The news came after an announcement from David Hogg, a survivor from last month’s school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, during an interview with Anderson Cooper.

“We’re gonna have four major independent women that are standing with us and walking beside us, and those are Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato,” he said. “They’re gonna be standing there with us and marching with us and they’re some of the few people that are really coming out and stepping up with us.”
So proud to stand with these brave students and the movement they’re leading 🙌 #IWillMarch #MarchForOurLives https://t.co/w0yLAORaVJ https://t.co/g1EgmKc6He

Set to take place on March 24, the march for gun control has been made possible given the generous donations by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, as well as George and Amal Clooney.
George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.
