Cynthia Nixon of Sex and the City Is Running for Governor of New York
Our thoughts: at least she has some legal experience.
American politics invite all to leave their mark, including celebrities like Cynthia Nixon. After the Presidential victories of Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump, it seems the route is not as impossible as one would think.
Well-known for her role as Miranda Hobbes from Sex and the City, the lawyer who didn’t take anything from anybody, Nixon announced that she would be running for Governor of New York.
She announced her entrance to the New York gubernatorial race with a video stating, “New York is my home. I’ve never lived anywhere else.” Referencing her upbringing with a single mom and advocating for public schools, the intimate release allows a peek inside her life.

Citing New York as the most unequal state in the country, she vows for change. Seeking reform in health care, mass incarceration, and public transportation, this star is “sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us.”
