Amy Poehler to Direct and Star in New Netflix Comedy
Ever since Parks and Recreation came to an end, television has been sadder.
The Saturday Night Live alum Amy Poehler is set to direct Netflix’s latest comedy Wine Country along some of her former castmates. The show will feature a group of friends having a girls’ weekend trip to Napa Valley.
Making her directorial debut on Netflix, it should not be too hard given her experience behind the camera work on Parks and Recreation and Broad City. Not to mention that the cast includes SNL alums Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and Tina Fey, as well as Emily Spivey and Paula Pell, a couple of writers she has worked with prior.

After its big announcement hitting the web on Tuesday, Principal photography is set to begin towards the end of March in Los Angeles and Napa, CA. This new project written by former SNL writer Emily Spivey and Liz Cackowski will be the first Netflix exclusive project Poehler has touched after her countless box office hits and NBC partnerships.
