The Bachelor’s Arie Had a Not so Funny April Fool’s Joke
April 1st is well known for the day every prankster can have fun.
Some pranks though should just never be done and the one that the Bachelor’s Arie Luyendk Jr. did was one of them. On Sunday, April 1st Arie decided to post a picture of his fiancée Lauren Burnham’s stomach on Twitter with the caption, “Secrets finally out, we have a bunny in the oven!” This did not go over well with most people on the Internet. The reason why is simple, Lauren is not actually pregnant.

This joke is not funny for this major reason. It is not something that should be joked around with because of how risky it is to even carry a child for most people and how hard it is to conceive in the first place.
I do have sympathy for women struggling from infertility. My April Fools prank was in no way meant to offend women who struggle with that. I apologize if you were effected personally by my post.

Fans took to Twitter to express how they felt about the post. Some fans were upset, and others did not find it offensive. Either way, Arie took to Instagram posting an apology in his story that said, “Sorry if you were offended, but we really are making a Dutch baby.” He then posted a picture of a Dutch Baby, which is a dessert pastry that they made together.
Sometimes you may think something is funny, but in all reality, it can be offensive to a lot of people. Arie definitely learned his lesson.
