Washington reflected on her time with Scandal and looked forward to her future plans on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this past Wednesday.

During the interview, Washington discussed her feelings on Scandal coming to an end. She admitted that saying goodbye to the show was bittersweet for her as she loves her coworkers so much, but she thinks the show ended at the right time.

“We end good,” she said in an excited voice. “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll scream, you’ll be happy, you’ll be sad. It’s a bit of a roller coaster,” she said later on in the interview.

The last day of shooting went until 3 AM. Even her parents stayed until the end. “We ended as a family,” Washington said. She also channeled her inner Oprah Winfrey by purchasing the whole cast and crew mattress pads.

Fallon then asked Washington if she took anything from the set.

“Maybe one or two Prada purses,” Washington replied.

Some of the props are actually being sent to the Smithsonian. “It’s going to be weird to break into the Smithsonian to steal more stuff,” she joked.

In terms of post-Scandal plans, Washington has already produced a Facebook series called Five Points, which will air this spring. She also has some shows and movies in the works. For her work with Neutrogena as a creative consultant, she recently finished designing some essential palettes for Ulta.

For the finale, the entire cast will be doing a live reading of the series finale to benefit the Actress Fund. They will also be live tweeting. “It will be pretty epic,” said Washington.
