Adele Pens Touching Tribute to Rihanna
Adele’s Time tribute to Rihanna will make you wish you had an Adele in your life.
This year Rihanna nabbed a spot on Time’s annual Time 100 List. Adele was asked to dedicate a tribute to her, and what she wrote was incredibly sweet.
It would be a hard task to find someone that didn’t recognize Rihanna’s genius. Not only has she mastered the music game and acted in major blockbuster movies, but she’s also changed the makeup industry. No one is exempt from the glory that is Rihanna, and Adele adorably proves that.
Maybe it’s the Fenty Beauty Body Lava, but Adele wrote that Rihanna “glows like when someone’s taken a picture with a flash and you’re dazed for a few minutes after.”
Adele continued, “I actually can’t remember the first time I met Rihanna; I was probably numb from the shock of it. She is one year older than me, but I feel like she’s been around forever. The progression of her superstardom feels steady, well deserved and extremely natural.”
It is not the first time that Adele has been the ultimate cheerleader for talented people.
When Adele won the 2016 Grammy for Album of the Year, she spoke not of how much she deserved the award, but rather, how much Beyoncé did. “You are our light, and the way that you make me and my friends feel—the way that you make my black friends feel—is empowering, and you make them stand up for themselves. And I love you, I always have, and I always will.”
Adele is the friend we all need.
