Miley Cyrus Rescinds Apology for Controversial Photoshoot
Ten years ago, Cyrus appeared semi-naked on the cover of Vanity Fair, but she has no apologies for it now.
Back in her Hannah Montana days, the then 15-year-old found herself surrounded by controversy after critics deemed her photoshoot for Vanity Fair too scandalous. For the notorious cover, Cyrus posed topless with only a white sheet covering her.
She then issued a statement to PEOPLE apologizing for the photo.
“My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. The pictures of me on the internet were silly, inappropriate shots…I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed everyone,” Cyrus said.
But, in a recent tweet, she took back her apology.
IM NOT SORRY
