2018 Tony Awards: ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ Sweep the Nominations (Full List)

Broadway musicals “Mean Girls” and “Spongebob Squarepants” scored big with a grand total of 24 nominations (12 each) for this year’s Tony Awards. 

Big-time play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” got 10, while musical “The Band’s Visit” and play “Angels in America” rounded up 11 each.

Some major celeb names were also included in the long list of talented nominations including Amy Schumer (“Meteor Shower”), Denzel Washington (“The Iceman Cometh”),  Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane (both from “Angels in America”), Michael Cera (“Lobby Hero”),  and Lauren Ambrose and Diana Rigg (both in “My Fair Lady”).

Nominations for this year’s Tony Awards were announced Tuesday morning at the New York Public Library of the Performing Arts in Manhattan.

This award ceremony will be hosted by singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles and singer-songwriter Josh Groban on June 10th on CBS, live from Radio City Music Hall.
