Christina Aguilera Is Back with New Music
It’s been a long-awaited six years for Christina Aguilera’s return.
Christina Aguilera dropped her new single titled “Accelerate” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz, on May 3rd, 2018. It was accompanied by a music video. Aguilera has had hits since the late 90s and early 2000s, with ‘”Genie in a Bottle” and “Lady Marmalade”, just to name a few. It’s been a long hiatus, and the reaction has been mixed, to say the least. Currently, the music video stands at 2.5 million views, with over 100,000 likes and 17,000 dislikes.
She had been showing fans little snippets and teasers from the comeback on social media. Her new album titled Liberation is coming out later this summer on June 15, with fifteen tracks including “Accelerate”.
Aguilera was featured in several songs throughout the past years, most notably as a part of a duet with A Great Big World in “Say Something,” but her last solo music endeavor had been in 2012 with her seventh studio album Lotus. She announced in 2016 that she had been working on new music, and two years later, she’s made her comeback.
