A$AP Rocky’s New Album ‘Testing’
ASAP Rocky is certainly ‘testing’ the boundaries of hip-hop and rap.
Rakim Mayers, or ASAP Rocky, is more than just a rapper. He’s multi-talented and has modeled for brands such as Under Armour and Dior, collaborating with the latter’s creative director and designer Raf Simons. He has also acted in the movie Dope.
Testing is ASAP Rocky’s third studio album, which has features like Frank Ocean and FKA Twigs. The fifteen track album includes many new hits, but also a remix of “ASAP Forever” with new features Kid Cudi and T.I. Additionally, he features two of the signees of his creative agency AWGE, fellow rappers Playboi Carti and Smooky MarGielaa on “Buck Shots.” ASAP Rocky builds on preexisting psychedelic and electronic sounds from his previous albums.
The LP was released on May 25th, just as fans predicted when the rapper announced a simple “525” message via social media. He kept his reveal straightforward with his Instagram caption, stating in all caps that the album was complete.
