‘Riverdale’ Has a New Message About Jingle Jangle
To promote Riverdale Season 2 coming to Netflix, Netflix and the show has put out a (comedic) warning on what Riverdale’s popular drug, Jingle Jangle, can do to you.
The fake PSA plays off the typical “stay off drugs” ads. In fact, Riverdale’s character Veronica, played by Camila Mendes, uses a frying pan to show “your brain on Jingle Jangle.” It is a reference to 1997 drug warning ad with Rachel Leigh Cook.
Veronica is the diner where she smashes burgers, fries, dishes, and a shake with the frying pan. But instead of it being diner food, it is your brain, family and friends, frenemies, and future.
It is at the end of the video that we realize that Veronica is talking to Archie, played by KJ Apa, as she asks, “Any questions, Archiekins?” Archie answers, “Message received, Ronnie” with strawberry shake on his cheek.
Season 2 of Riverdale is officially on Netflix, so you can binge watch now. Season 3 will come to the CW in the fall.
