Anne Hathaway Debunks ‘Ocean’s 8’ Catfight Rumors

Just because the cast list is full of A-list actresses does not mean that tensions were high on the set.

In fact, on Thursday, May 31st, when Hoda Kotb of NBC’s Today suggested that critics may assume there were a lot of “egos” present during production, Hathaway told her that the women of Ocean’s 8 got along extremely well. In dispelling this myth, both the Oscar-winner and Kobt agreed that it was a very sexist notion to believe that such friction would occur amongst a group of women just because they’re women.

“It’s been really amazing to watch the way certain members of the media have wanted us to fight each other and the way they wanted there to be competition and catfights, but we were all collaborating—all the time,” Hathaway elaborated, “Now, we’re friends. We genuinely love each other and we’re so there for each other. It’s a beautiful thing.”
