Amber Rose Talks Confidence and the Power of Individualism
As the queen of self-love and body positivity that she is, Amber Rose is here to empower other women to own and embrace who they are, no matter their size.
The 34-year-old model/actress recently collaborated with plus-size clothing company Simply Be to release a line of 25 different fierce and affordable pieces. She told HuffPost that she loved the idea of working with the brand because of its size inclusivity, stating, “I don’t believe in leaving any woman out.”
Rose is someone who has been known to radiate confidence wherever she goes, but she shared that she knows what it feels like to struggle with body image. After the birth of her son, Sebastian, she was 202 pounds and it took her a full year to lose the weight that she gained. She explained that she had never before been that size and found it difficult to dress her body satisfactorily.
Through it all, what has always been most important to her is finding the way to feel beautiful in her own skin. “I think where we go wrong is when we always try to wear what’s in style, but that doesn’t really make us individuals,” said Rose, “I think it’s really cool when we can do our own thing and be confident in that.” Now that’s some Self Love.
