A ‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff May Be on Its Way

HBO has confirmed that a pilot of a prequel series for Game of Thrones has been ordered.

The pilot is set to take place way before the Game of Thrones storyline, in fact, it will be “thousands of years before the events,” in a statement from HBO. The pilot story was written by the author of the Game of Thrones books, George R.R. Martin, along with Kingsman writer Jane Goldman.

HBO released a statement about the series saying “The series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: From the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the White Walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend … it’s not the story we think we know.” While it is not a whole lot to go on, it definitely makes us interested to know more.

Game of Thrones sadly only has one more season left, but if the spinoff’s pilot does well, then we can continue the crazy journey on Westeros and farther on.
