Broadway’s Ruthie Ann Miles Is Back on Stage After Her Fatal Car Crash
Talented actress and singer, Ruthie Ann Miles, is going back to work three months after the devastating accident that killed her five year old daughter.
Miles is best known for her role as Lady Thiang in The King and I, which she earned a featured actress Tony award for in 2015. Ruthie is now headed to London to play the part that landed her a prestigious trophy.
A couple months back, Miles whole life was flipped upside down when she was crossing a big intersection in New York with her friend and both of their children. A woman failed to stop at the red light, which her attorneys say was due to a sudden seizure. Miles’s young daughter was killed along with her friend’s one year old son. Her friend, Lauren, was left in critical condition, while pregnant Ruthie faced the least injuries.
After the tragedy, Miles was heartbroken but stated that it was a true miracle that her unborn baby was still alive. Sadly, just weeks later, Ruthie suffered a miscarriage after her and husband, Jonathan Blumenstein, had already given her the name Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein.
Miles took to Twitter to thank everyone for the support and kindness that she and her family had received after the terrible events occured. Ruthie and her husband are dealing with things one day at a time, and she is using the utmost strength by returning to work and beginning to return to what normalcy is left.
