Ne-Yo’s New Album ‘Good Man’

The songs on this new album have fresh summertime vibes.

Ne-Yo is an artist that plays a quintessential part of the R&B genre of music, particularly from the 2000s. Some of his popular hits include “Miss Independent” and “So Sick.” After nearly three years of hiatus, on June 8th he released a brand new album titled Good Man with twenty new tracks.

The 38-year old artist does not enjoy the “game” of the music industry and revealed his feelings in an interview with The Breakfast Club.

He had to work hard to create tracks that were true to his style yet also balanced with the sound that people like today. Ne-Yo also explained how he had to come back quicker than originally planned, as people were forgetting about him. He says that “Two years feels like 10 years…so I couldn’t stay away too long.”

The album consists of pop-heavy tracks like “1 More Shot” and “Push Back”, but also acoustic and melodic sounds, such as “Nights Like These” and “Without U.”
