Urging the audience to “watch to the end,” the trailer starts with a voice over of Farmiga’s character, Sister Irene, describing her visions of an evil nun, as the haunting picture of the nun from The Conjuring 2 fills the screen.
The trailer ends with Farmiga’s character walking through the dark – unaware that the evil nun of her visions is following her, waiting to attack.
The official synopsis for The Conjuring 2 spin-off: “When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in ‘The Conjuring 2,’ as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.”
Warner Bros. The Nun opens theaters September 7, with the promise to keep you up at night with dreams of evil sisters.
