Priyanka Chopra Will Release Her Memoir ‘Unfinished’ Next Year
The actress opens up about her journey to fame in this empowering collection of personal essays, stories, and observations.
Chopra’s rise to celebrity began when she won the title of Miss India at age 17. She then went on to land the Miss World crown the very next year. Following her huge success in the beauty pageant circuit, she later became an actress, singer, producer, activist, and UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
“I have always been a private person, I’ve never spoken about my feelings during my journey but I am ready to do so now,” she told the Times of India, “I was raised to be fearless when it came to opinions, and I would like to tell my story in the hopes of inspiring people ― especially women ― to change the conversation, to shatter glass ceilings.”
Meru Gokhale, the Editor-in-Chief of Penguin Random House India, told TOI that she is committed to publishing “strong female role models,” which is why she is so excited to add the new author to that list by issuing her first book.
“Women are always told we can’t have everything,” said Chopra, “I want everything, and I believe anyone else can have it too. I’m proof of it.”
Unfinished will be published simultaneously in the US, India, and Britain in 2019.
